Richard "Dick" Randolph Harrison, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 3, 2018, at MorningStar Senior Living Center. He was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice, and his children.
Dick was born August 4, 1930, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Lloyd Fielding Harrison and Laura Wagner Harrison. He grew up and attended schools in Indiana, and graduated from Shenandoah Valley Academy. He also attended Loma Linda University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy. Dick served for the U.S. Army during the Korean War where we earned the ranking of Private First Class.
On November 9, 1952, he married Patricia E. Flory, in Lawton, Oklahoma. To this union were born two children, Randy and Sheri. They lived in Porterville, CA and Sonora, CA. Dick and Pat were later divorced. He later married Lorraine Ross Cowden in Carson City, Nevada. Dick and Lorraine made their home in San Jose, CA, where he worked as a registered physical therapist.
Dick and Lorraine enjoyed attending Hillside Church in San Jose, CA, going on Corvette rides over to the coast of CA, and traveling the U.S. He loved his job as a Physical Therapist, as well as playing the piano.
Dick is survived by his wife, Lorraine Cowden Harrison, of Asheville, NC; son, Randy (Gail) Harrison of Canada; daughter, Sheri (Don) Weber of Idaho Falls, ID; step-son Jeff (Debbie) Cowden of Bloomington, IL; step-daughter Julie (Craig) Allen of Heyworth, IL; step-son Steve (Karen) Cowden of Lake Oswego, OR; step-son Scott (Lisa) Cowden of Corvallis, OR; grandchildren, Carly (Leah) Harrison of Portland, OR, Kelsey (Matt) Hjelm of Seattle, WA, Olivia Weber of Newport Beach, CA, James Weber of Salt Lake City, UT; step-grandchildren, Laura (Michael) Anderson, Kyle (Madi) Threewit, Blake Cowden, Claire Allen, Reed Cowden, Abigail (Tyler) Hammond, Sophie Cowden, Trent Cowden, Brooke (Josiah) Wai, Brett Cowden, Hailey Cowden; one great grandchild and four step-grandchildren; and a brother, Wallace (Freda) Harrison of Riverside, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family memorials have been held.
