Richard Dean Hardy, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 22, 2011, at his home in Idaho Falls.
Richard was born April 30, 1938, in Provo, Utah, to Jessee Hardy and Erma Bray Hardy. He lived in Springville, Utah, for 23 years , Provo, Utah, for four years, and Idaho Falls the past 44 years. He attended Lincoln School and graduated from Springville High School.
On June 1, 1962, he married Florence Susan Peay in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He and Susan raised their family in Idaho Falls. Richard worked at Art City Publishing after high school until he was drafted into the U. S. Army in 1961. He served as a Specialist First Class. After returning he worked for Art City Publishing for another year. He left there to work for Skaggs Drugstore, who transferred him to Idaho Falls. He worked there seven years before starting his career with the Post Register. After leaving the Post Register he went on to work for Melaleuca for ten years and then for Teton Delivery and Hammon Delivery, from which he retired three years ago.
Richard was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a counselor in the Sunday School Presidency, as Cub Master and as Executive Secretary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, woodworking, watching sports, camping, four wheeling, and especially his family. He never missed a grandchild’s ball game.

Son, Cory Travis (Marlena) Hardy of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son, Ryan Henry (Tiffany) Hardy of Idaho Falls, Id;
Son, Trent Richard (Becky) Hardy of Blackfoot, ID;
Brother, Keith Hardy of Plymouth, UT;
Sister, Glenda Hardy of Springville, UT;
16 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS 26th Ward, 2025 Jennie Lee Drive, with Bishop Paul Manning officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
