Richard Foster, 88, of Shelley, passed away February 20, 2011, at his home.
Richard was born September 7, 1922, in Wichita, Kansas to Alpheus Parker Foster and May Pearl Wells Foster. He grew up and attended schools in Wichita. Following high school he served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He married Iris Doreen Arnatt August 25, 1945, in Nunham Courtnay, England. Richard was a manufacturing engineer for UNISYS until his retirement. He also lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Chicago, Illinois, and Salt Lake City, Utah, before coming to Shelley.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church. He enjoyed fishing and going to Fort Hall.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Iris, a daughter, Deborah "Debby" Marshall of Shelley, ID; a son, David Foster of Salt Lake City, UT; 5 grandchildren, Wendy Marshall, Shelley (Jess) Morgan, Scott (Brooke) Foster, Nathan Foster, and Nicole (Brandon) Stoddard, and 1 great grandson, Kaden Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
