Richard Rheim Couch, 45 of Idaho Falls, passed away January 6, 2017, at his home from cardiac arrest.
He was born January 7, 1971, in Idaho Falls, to Howard Keith Couch and Judith Ann Jones Couch. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School, became an Eagle Scout, and attended Brigham Young University as an art major. Richard was a great soccer player in school. He was gifted in art and music. He served an LDS mission in the New Mexico Albuquerque mission.
Richard was a caregiver for TURN Community Services in Salt Lake City, Utah, for twelve years, and became an Exemplar in their program. Richard loved the men he cared for there; they were like family to him. He was thoughtful, considerate, and always looked for ways to go the extra mile in rendering kindness.
He was generous with whatever he had. He was loving and compassionate toward everyone. He wanted to be known for being a friend to all.
Richard is survived by his mother, Judy Jones Hegsted of Idaho Falls, ID;
father, Dr. H. Keith Couch, of Roseburg, OR;
brother, David Keith (Monica) Couch of Idaho Falls, ID;
brother, Michael Howard (Mary) Couch of Rigby, ID;
brother, Robert Brinton (Candace) Couch of Richmond, IN; and
sister, Katherine Ann (Rick) Parks of Salem, OR;
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Jay Couch, his grandparents, Rheim and Alice Jones and Howard and Thella Couch.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Jim Hansen of the Ammon LDS 27th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
