Richard Allen Clemons, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 2, 2017, at Lincoln Court in Idaho Falls. He was under the care of his loving family and Encompass Hospice. Richard was born October 24, 1935, in Gooding, Idaho, to Emmett Clair Clemons and Maisie Elizabeth Ruscoe. He grew up and attended schools in Gooding, graduating from Gooding High School in 1953. He also attended the University of Idaho where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1957. On August 13, 1966, he married Aurelia D. Nielson in Elko, Nevada. To this union were born three children, David, Emmett and Christen. Richard and Aurelia made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Richard worked as a Mechanical Engineer for EG&G. He enjoyed scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He joined the LDS church on August 10, 2008, and worked in the Cub Scouts. He enjoyed metal working and welding, boating, water skiing, and scavenging in scrap yards. He was a respected and loved father and grandfather. Richard is survived by his son, David (Brenda) Clemons of Melba, ID; daughter, Christen (Lonny) Chambers of Ammon, ID; brother, Duane (Coral) Clemons of Gooding, ID; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aurelia; son, Emmett William Clemons; and brother, Jackson Barry Clemons. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Lincoln 3rd Ward, 2545 Mesa Street, with Bishop Craig Flemming officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Saturday from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
