Rhonda Russum

Rhonda Diane Russum, 60, of Idaho Falls, passed away the morning of August 28th, 2018, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Rhonda was born March 3, 1958, in Borger, Texas, to Jerrel Freeman and Marilyn Sue Russum. She was the oldest of three girls. In 1968, the family moved to Arco, Idaho, and then a year later relocated to Idaho Falls, where she resided until her death.

Throughout junior and senior high school, Rhonda was an exceptionally gifted athlete. Rhonda participated in many sports including track and field, drill team, volleyball and softball. She continued her passion for softball even after high school. She played 1st baseman for Debbie's Brothers for many years and was considered one of the best players in the league.

Rhonda possessed an exceptionally generous and kind spirit. Rhonda was always the type of person who would give her last dollar to a friend, family member or even a stranger in need. Rhonda, a true optimist, could always see the good in people, and she would never let hardship or inconvenience get her down. She possessed an infectious sense of humor that could bring anyone to their knees in laughter. Those close to Rhonda could attest to the joy she could bring to a room simply through her presence. Above all, Rhonda loved being a grandma and was always delighted to get to spend time with any and all of her grandchildren.

Rhonda is survived by her daughter, Brittne Russum (Geoff Stubbs), of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Tailer Robinson, of Idaho Falls, ID; mother, Marilyn Sue Peterson, of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Kim Fredrickson, of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Julie Russum (Nolan) Lee, of Idaho Falls, ID; nephew, Nicholas Dennis, of Idaho Falls, ID; nephew, Dustin Dennis, of Idaho Falls, ID; niece, Ashley (Tyler) West, of Colorado Springs, CO; nephew, Christopher Fredrickson, of Boise, ID; nephew, Jeffrey Fredrickson, of Idaho Falls, ID; and 7 grandchildren, Korbin, Remington, Whitne, Greyson, Kinzly, Aayden, and Stetson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerrel Freeman Russum, and all of her beloved grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with pastor Ty Orr of WaterSprings Church officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to services. Reception to follow at a location to be announced later.
