Rhoda Miller

Rhoda Hansen Miller, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 19, 2016, at her home. Rhoda was born February 6, 1925, in Shelton, Idaho, to Alfred Emanuel Thorvald Hansen and Mabel Leah Chandler Hansen. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Central High School. On December 11, 1944, she married Harold George Miller, Jr. in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on December 11, 1998. To this union were born six children, Carolyn, Dale, Susan, Janet, Kent, and Jackie. Rhoda and Harold made their home in Idaho Falls, where Rhoda was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in Primary and scouts and was an organist in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She loved playing her piano and organ. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, sewing, gardening, traveling, camping at the family cabin in Island Park, and playing board games (especially Yahtzee), and hummingbirds. Rhoda is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Miller of Idaho Falls, ID; son, A. Dale (Loretta) Miller of Bountiful, UT; daughter, Susan (Bruce) Lind of Ammon, ID; daughter, Janet (Daryl) Bates of Cedar Hills, UT; son, Kent (Cindy) Miller of Parker, CO; daughter, Jackie (Andrew) Szarka of Seattle, WA; 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and four siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Idaho Falls LDS Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with James Drake, Counselor in the Mountain View Ward Bishopric, officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
