Rhea Shirley White, 90, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away August 31, 2013, at her home of natural causes. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
Rhea was born April 14, 1923, in Driggs, ID, to Richard Ripplinger and Elise Margret Brox Ripplinger. She grew up and attended schools in Driggs and graduated from Driggs High School.
On January 11, 1964, she married Henry Gorden White at Elko, Nevada. Rhea and Henry made their home in the Ammon area. Rhea worked as a cashier for Woolworth’s, and was also a waitress and laborer during her working years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a church librarian for 32 years. She enjoyed shopping, camping, and being outdoors.
Rhea is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Henry White of Idaho Falls, ID;
Son: Destry (K'tanya) White of Idaho Falls, ID;
4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George Ripplinger, sisters Lois Haderlie and Virginia Paris, a son, Ian Gould, and daughters, Teresa Gould and Shannon White.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Ammon LDS 10th Ward, 4375 East Sunnyside Road, with Bishop Wes Wood officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5th at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and from 9:00 to 9:45 prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
