Click Here To View Memorial Video Rhea Lacon Johnson Christensen, 90, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 15, 2014, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community of natural causes. She was under the care of One Source Hospice. Rhea was born May 17, 1923, in Victor, Idaho, to Eldon Alonzo Johnson and Velda Woolstenhulme Johnson. She was the eldest of 12 children. She grew up and attended schools in Victor and graduated from Teton High School. On May 14, 1943, she married Leo Wayne Christensen in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. To this union were born two sons, Donald and David. Rhea and Leo made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Rhea worked for 40 years as a beautician. Leo passed away on September 6, 2002. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Young Woman’s President, served a mission in the Washington D.C. LDS Temple, and as an officiator in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She enjoyed gardening, camping, skiing, fishing, dancing, painting, and quilting. She loved to spoil her grandkids. Rhea is survived by son, Donald Christensen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, David (Norma) Christensen of Ucon, ID; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS 2nd Ward, 885 South Boulevard. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6:30– 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and 10–10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Victor City Cemetery at 3 p.m.
