Rex Murdock - 04/04/2003 Rex Murdock - 04/04/2003 REX A. MURDOCK IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Rex A. Murdock, 82, of Idaho Falls, died April 3, 2003, at Eastern Idaho Regional MedicalCenter. He was born, March 12, 1921, in Heber City, UT to Alphonso Brigham and Lillian Evans Murdock. He served a European Tour in the 16th Armored 23rd Cavalry, from January 1943 to April 1946. He married Ilene June Weatherman July 20, 1944, at Fort Smith, Sabastian, AK. They lived in Salt Lake City, UT after his tour of duty. Rex and Ilene had one daughter, Pamela. The family relocated to Idaho Falls, in 1952, where Rex served 31 years as business agent for the Teamsters' Union. Rex and Ilene divorced in 1962. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jeanenne Jones Murdock. Rex and Jeanenne were married in Pocatello November, 1964. He is survived by daughters, Pamela Tomita, Salt Lake City, UT, and Jennifer Maestas, Hooper, UT, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Brothers and sisters, Merrill Murdock, Salt Lake City, UT; Max Murdock, San Diego, CA; Mary Lawson and Althea Payne, Heber City, UT; and Helen Anderson, Kamas, UT. As a faithful member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rex served on two occasions as an assistant in the Taylorview High Priest Group. He loved golf for many years, but his real love was snowmobiling with his friends and family. While we mourn our loss, we also celebrate his life, for he was always there to help those in need and brought joy and hope to all our lives. As a husband, father and friend, Rex will be sorely missed, until we meet again. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS Taylorview Ward, 5255 South Fifth West, with Bishop Rodney Hillam officiating. Viewing will be held Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The Murdock family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Development Workshop, 555 West 25th St. Idaho Falls, ID 83402.
