Reta Armstrong

Reta T. Armstrong, 87, of Iona, passed away August 12, 2017, at her home. Reta was born April 1, 1930, at Logan, Utah, to George Asa Thomson and Seneth Hyer Thomson. She grew up and attended schools in Lewiston, Utah, then went on to North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah. She also attended Utah State University in Logan, where she met James C. Paxman. They were married March 16, 1951. After James graduated in 1953, he joined the U. S. Army as a pilot and made the military a career. They lived in many areas in the United States, mostly in the southern states. They also had a three year tour in Germany. They had three children, Alan J. Paxman, Wade T. Paxman, and Carol Ann Paxman. In 1973 after a divorce she, Wade, and Carol Ann moved to Idaho Falls at the request of her sister. She bought a home and went to work at the Oral Health Center for Dr. Steven A. Barnard. On April 30, 1982, she married Dee L. Armstrong and they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on April 30 1983. They had many happy years together. They toured Europe, Alaska, China, and the Caribbean. Dee passed away December 30, 2010. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various capacities over the years. She and Dee were officiators in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for three years and also served a full-time LDS mission to the Canada, Melfort Saskatchewan Mission. They loved to garden and go camping. Most of all, they loved their children and grandchildren. She survived by her son, Wade (Kathy Morgan) Paxman, and stepchildren, Michael Armstrong, Teresa Hart, Gordon (Julie) Herbert, Jill (Casey McCray) Armstrong, Judy A. (Dale) Cook; a sister, Ann McFarland; 22 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee, her parents, George and Seneth Thomson, her daughter, Carol Ann Stuart, son, Alan Paxman, grandson, Brodie Stuart, and two sisters, Darma Lu Bergeson and Clarice Petersen. At her request, there will be no funeral services. A family viewing will be held, followed by burial in the lona Cemetery.

No Public Services will be held. She passed away
