Renee Olson

Renee Evans Olson, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away September 27, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice and her loving family. Renee was born February 13, 1929, in Arimo, Idaho, to Leland Evans and Hortense Farr Evans. She grew up and attended schools in Arimo, Idaho, and graduated from Arimo High School with high honors. Renee continued her education at Idaho State University where she earned her degree in cosmetology. On August 10, 1949, she married Dale Gooch Olson in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born three children, Susan, Brad and Karen. Renee was a wife, mother, and homemaker. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Renee served her neighbors and in all organizations in her church. She also was a voter precinct worker. Renee loved reading, gardening, needlework, cooking, sharing memories with her family, playing games and spending time with her grandchildren. She adored her husband and children. Renee was an amazing mother who created a loving, nurturing and welcoming home. Renee is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Dale Olson of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Susan (L. Rich) Humpherys of Bountiful, UT; son, Bradley Dale (Nora Tuminez) Olson of Irvine, CA; daughter, Karen Olson of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, John (Virgie) Evans of Ivans, UT; brother, Jerry (Marlene) Evans of American Falls, ID; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leland Evans Jr., and three sisters, Shirley Brady, Janice Watson, and Marcia Garner. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS Grandview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Jeff Clifford officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the New Sweden Cemetery.
