Rene Yvonne (Walton) Shanafelt

Rene Yvonne Walton Shanafelt, 66, of Rigby, passed away December 31, 2021, at her home. She was under the care of One Source Hospice.

Rene was born September 14, 1955, in Linton, Indiana, to Stanley Laverne Walton and Daisy Evelyn Bass Walton. She grew up and attended schools in Vincennes, Indiana.

On December 25, 1974, she married Maurice Roland Shanafelt in Wilmington, Ohio. Together, they had one son, Benjamin. Rene and Maurice made their home in Rigby, Idaho, where Rene bought, sold, and collected antiques. She also enjoyed repair and restoration.

She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Rene is survived by her loving husband, Maurice Roland Shanafelt of Rigby, ID; son, Benjamin Maurice Shanafelt of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Ricky Walton of Baker City, OR; sister, Nancy (Gordon Molano) Walton of Ocala, FL; sister, Irma (Ted) Mason of Xenia, OH; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Stan, Steve, and Barney Walton.
