RELLA L. WALKINGSHAW
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Rella LaDonna Walkingshaw, 89, died
Wednesday, August 11, 2004, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, while visiting at the
home of her son.
She was born May 31, 1915, in Rexburg, Idaho, a daughter
of Oliver Calvin Anderson and Isabell Ellsworth Anderson. She attended
schools in Buhl, Montpelier, and Rexburg, Idaho. The summer she turned
20 she was called to serve for two years in the Central States LDS Mission.
Following her mission, she attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake
City.
She married George William Walkingshaw September 2, 1938,
in Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized the following March in
the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She and George lived briefly in Salt Lake City and Idaho Falls before
moving to California where her husband worked at Douglas Aircraft in Santa
Monica during World War II. The Walkingshaw's lived in Pacific Palisades,
California, until 1975, when they moved to Honolulu, where they lived
until the death of her husband in 1988. Since then, she has resided with
her daughter in Provo, Utah.
She was active in the Republican Club in Honolulu and
a member of the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge. She was a member of
President Reagan's Task Force and was active in the community theater
in Honolulu. Her family and church were her life. She was a born leader.
She served many years as MIA President and Relief Society President in
various wards and Stakes. No one was more generous with her time, talent
or means, or loved her family more. She was a “people person”
and had many friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and
will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August
17, 2004, at the Wood East Side Chapel, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop
Richard Powell of the Ammon LDS 13th Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends Monday at 10:00 a.m.
at Wood East Side Chapel.
Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Local
directions are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home East Side.
