Reina Carolina Bueno Wongan, 68, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 24, 2016, surrounded by family at her home in Fairwinds-Sandcreek Retirement Community after a long battle with cancer. She was born December 3, 1947, in Nyssa, Oregon, the first daughter to Jesus and Carrie Lucero Bueno. She grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, and later lived in Blackfoot, Idaho, before settling in Idaho Falls. On December 30, 1985, she married the love of her life, Ivan Wongan in Rowland Heights, California. They made their home in Idaho Falls where she was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and soon to be great grandmother. She attended Watersprings Church and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She especially loved wintering with her husband and making new friends in Yuma, Arizona, staying in touch with relatives, and shopping for bargains. Survivors include her loving husband of over 30 years, Ivan Wongan; two children, Robert (Erica) Sanchez and Carolina (Jenn) Morgan, both of Chino Hills, CA; brother, Victor (Maria) Bueno; sisters, Anita (Scott) Griggs and Mary (Dale) Russell, all of Idaho Falls; grandchildren, Jessica Morgan of Santa Cruz, CA, Daniel Morgan, Kelsey Morgan and Madison Tukaloff, all of Brea, CA, and Airman Ian Simms, stationed at Sheppard AFB, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Felix Sanchez, Jr. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Fritz (Amy) Schmutz, Lynn Harker, and the staff at Fairwinds Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Teton Cancer Institute, 2964 Balboa Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83401, in memory of Reina Wongan. Rosary Services will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Watersprings Church, 4250 South 25th East, with Pastor Rick Brown officiating. The family will visit with friends following the Rosary until 8:00 p.m. at Wood East Side and from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
