Reese Hansen

Reese Hansen, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 5, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of natural causes. Reese was born May 13, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, Utah, to Gy Carlton Hansen and Ethel Vendora Shepherd Hansen. He spent his early years in Mount Pleasant until the family moved to Idaho Falls when he was 11 years old. He attended O. E. Bell Jr. High School and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He served as a Private in the U. S. Army. On 1971 he married Shirley Garland in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced. He later married M. Faye Whitney in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Reese was self employed as a Journeyman Carpenter. Reese was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He volunteered at the Idaho Falls Soup Kitchen. He loved exercising, sports, tennis, basketball, and spending time with his grandsons, son and daughter in-law. Reese loved his family. Reese is survived by Wife, Faye Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID, Son, Steve (Raschel) Hansen of Idaho Falls, ID; Grandsons, Daniel Hansen and Ryan Hansen, both of Idaho Falls; Sister, Joyce (David) Terry of Ogden, UT, Sister, Billie (Frank) Wilson of Willard, UT; He was preceded in death by his parents, Gy and Vendora Hansen, his first wife, Shirley Hansen, six brothers, Wendell Hansen, Deverl Hansen, Voyle Hansen, Gy C. (Janis) Hansen, and Merrill (Joy) Hansen, and two sisters, LeVoy Pederson and Carol (Rod) Ragan. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012, at Rose Hill Cemetery, with Bishop Travis Walker of the Idaho Falls LDS 4th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
