Reed Sparks

Reed Charles Sparks, age 68, passed away on January 21, 2012, at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Reed was born October 10, 1943, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Frank L. Sparks and Ethel Wilcock Sparks. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended Utah State University. Reed worked at numerous jobs during his life. He fought forest fires along the middle fork of the Salmon River. He worked for the Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle for many years. He later returned to Idaho Falls and worked at a nuclear reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) in the desert west of Idaho Falls. Reed was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was an Eagle Scout who loved the out of doors and his summer hideout in Swan Valley, Idaho, until declining health forced him to give it up. Reed liked working in his yard and garden and enjoyed his own produce. He was a friend to all and willingly offered a helping hand to those in need. Reed will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Reed is survived by his brother, Rolland (Agnes) Sparks of Cottonwood Heights, UT; and their children, Charles (Kristy) Sparks, Kirsten, Brian (McKay) Sparks, and Andrea. He was preceded in death by his parents. At his request, Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
