Reed Dean Heston, 69, of Ucon, Idaho, passed away July 13, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Reed was born February 24, 1947, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ralph David Heston and Mildred Lilly Travis Heston. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also earned his bachelor’s degree from Boise State University. On May 15, 1970, he married Linda Kay Walker in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Reed and Linda made their home in Ucon, Idaho, where they raised their three daughters, Stacie, Jennifer and Amber. Reed worked as a machinist and fabricator and owned and operated Airway Machine. Reed enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, woodworking, and photography. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. His happiest times were spent with his family, who loved him and will miss their time together. Reed is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda Heston of Ucon, ID; daughter, Stacie Gilbert of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Jennifer (Juan) Romero of Idaho Falls, ID, daughter, Amber (Sean) Layton of Idaho Falls, ID. sister, Charlene (Bill) Deveraux of Idaho Falls, ID, sister, Charlotte Moore of Boise, ID, sister, Rita (Frank) Wennstrom of Boise, ID, sister, Ruth (Bill) Peed of Hampton, VA, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mildred Heston. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Ucon Cemetery with Sean Layton officiating. The family will visit with friends 12 Noon to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
