Click Here To View Memorial Video Raymond Kenneth Ragan Jr., 80, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away August 29, 2013, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. Ray was born November 17, 1932, in Shelley, Idaho, to Raymond Kenneth Ragan Sr. and Melba Miller Ragan. He grew up in Jackson, Wyoming, during World War II, and in Rigby, Idaho, where he graduated from Rigby High School. In 1957, he married Joan Goodell. They were later divorced. In October 1976, Ray married Donna Zikas Calhoun. They were also divorced. Ray made his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he worked as a salesperson in pharmaceuticals, outside sales, and as a licenced hearing aid dispenser. He was also a HUD Placement Counselor. During that time he helped set up housing for people who lost their homes during the Teton Dam Flood. He excelled in volunteer work for the American Red Cross. Ray assisted in the 9/11 disaster as well as in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. He received commendations from the Idaho State Senate for his selfless service. Ray was a member of the Journey Church in Shelley, Idaho, enjoyed fishing, golf, and had a passion for skiing. He served on the Ski Patrol for many years, and achieved his lifelong dream of climbing the Grand Teton. Ray is survived by Daughter, Kelley Jo Ragan of Pocatello, ID; Daughter, Angela Joan Ragan of Idaho Falls, ID; Daughter, Cynthia Rae (Nyle) Tuckett of Idaho Falls, ID; Son, Raymond K. (Helena) Ragan, III of Sierra Vista, AZ; Daughter, Kendra Jo Ragan of Peoria, AZ; Grandchildren, Ryan & Jared Elliott, Danielle, Rachel & Jacob Tuckett, Rhaynnon, Gwendolyn, Natalie, & Abigail Ragan, and Alta & Aspen Ragan; and his favorite daughter, Lacey, his dog; Brother, Rodney Ragan of Ammon, ID; Brother, Reed Ragan of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister, Margery Houdyshell of Meridian, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Brook Ann Ragan, and his brother, Ronald Ragan. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Journey Church, 505 North Park Ave. in Shelley, with Pastor Roger Manwiller officiating.
