Raymond Willie Plocher, 91, of Palisades, passed away January 1, 2025, at his son’s home.
Raymond was born February 23, 1933, in Rupert, Idaho, to Edward Plocher and Magdalena Dietz Plocher. He grew up and attended schools in Rupert and graduated from Rupert High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He did an apprenticeship to become an electrician.
On November 30, 1956, he married Donna Joyce McBride in Burley, Idaho. Raymond and Donna made their home in Palisades, Idaho, where Raymond worked as an Electrician Foreman for the Bureau of Reclamation Palisades Power Plant.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, working in the yard, traveling, mom's cooking, snowmobiling, horses, and going for drives.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Lari (Alan) Nelson of Burley, ID; son, Chad (Marlene) Plocher of Rexburg, ID; son, Edward Todd (Rachel) Plocher of Felt, ID; daughter, Paula Smith of Logan, UT; daughter, Krista (Kurt) Degraw of Highlands Ranch, CO; 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Joyce Plocher; parents, Edward and Magdalena Plocher; in-laws, Jess and Evva McBride; and his 11 siblings.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Palisades Ward, 3109 Swan Valley Hwy. The family will visit with friends from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Swan Valley Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and the Idaho Honor Guard.
