Raymond Willard Malone, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 13, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of causes incident to age.
Raymond was born April 16, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Allen Malone and Orilla Alzada Crook Malone. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended Santa Ana Community College in California.
On August 8, 1957, he married DeeAnn Alvey in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple. Raymond and DeeAnn made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, spending 13 years in California before returning again to Idaho Falls to stay.
Raymond worked as a journeyman working with sheetmetal and as a self-employed roofer. He and DeeAnn started Data Tax Inc., where he worked until he retired.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many capacities, including as a scoutmaster and Elder’s Quorum President. He loved to drive around the country, and loved to fish.
Raymond is survived by
daughter, Christine (Eugene) Scott of Rigby, ID;
son, Douglas Malone of Ogden, UT;
son, Gregory (Kristen) Malone of Citrus Heights, CA;
son, Sean Malone of Idaho Falls, ID;
sister, Irene Olsen of Clearfield, UT;
12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, DeeAnn; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Chris Kunz officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, both at Wood East Side. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
