Raymond “Ray” Burton Randolph passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022, in Idaho Falls, of cancer.
Ray was born on November 25, 1936, in Washington, D.C. to Myron Dalmaine and Helen Viola Randolph.
Ray married Carol Ann McClellan on May 23, 1974, in Idaho Falls. He was a kind and loving father and grandfather.
He graduated with an associates degree at Deep Springs College in California. He then graduated from the University California at Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry. He worked his entire career at the INEL, employed by the Department of Energy as a Chemist.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ray loved gardening and had a passion for playing tennis and competed for many years. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed fly tying and was a life-long skier. He also enjoyed watching NFL and college football as well as NBA and college basketball. His favorite football team was the Oakland, now Las Vegas Raiders, Utah Jazz, Duke Blue Devils and, of course, BYU.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Randolph, and children, Lynn Shepherd, John Shepherd, Kent Shepherd, Mariann Shepherd and Brian Randolph.He has 14 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Mountain View Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
