Ray Ward Sr

Ray C. Ward Sr., 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 28, 2012, after a prolonged illness. Ray was born November 17, 1937, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was the son of Henry Ward and Wanda Nielson Ward. He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Idaho Falls schools. He married Marla Jean Swanner on July 3, 1956 in Idaho Falls. Ray served as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Ray was a parts and supply superintendent with the Idaho Department of Transportation before retirement. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Ray enjoyed family, hunting, fishing, his dog Jazzie, and writing letters to the editor at the Post Register. He was an active member of the Democratic Party. Survived by Wife: Marla Jean Ward of Idaho Falls; Son: Ray C. (Patty) Ward Jr. of Idaho Falls; Daughter: Teresa Jean Fortner of Idaho Falls; 7 grandchildren: Rachelle Winn, Angela Martin, Natalie Moss, Hillary Keeler, Corey Seele, Christopher Seele, and Taylor Seele; and 9 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Holbrook. At his request, no services will be held.
