Ray Pabst

Ray Cleon Pabst, 80, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away December 22, 2015, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.

Ray was born August 20, 1935, in Menan, Idaho, to Edmond Ahart Pabst and Dora Hall Pabst. He grew up and attended schools in Menan and graduated from Roberts High School. He also attended the University of Utah where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering. Ray enlisted in the United States Army at the end of the Korean Conflict and obtained the rank of Sergeant.

On July 27, 1956, he married Janice Arlene Rottweiler in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born six children, Kerry, Cheryl, Jolyn, Clarene, Janae, and Janeal. Ray and Janice made their home in Price, Utah, where Ray worked as a manager for Utah Power & Light. They were in Price for 39 years, Salt Lake City for ten years, and have lived in Ammon for the past ten years.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in two Bishoprics, on the High Council, in the Presidency of the Manti Temple where he was a temple sealer, as well as serving in the Idaho Falls, and Nauvoo, Illinois, temples. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and carpentry. He loved spending time with his family.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Janice Pabst of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Kerry (Nancy) Pabst of Frederick, CO; daughter, Jolyn Pabst of West Valley, UT; daughter, Clarene (Chris) Marley of Tremonton, UT; daughter, Janae (Richard) Larsen of West Point, UT; daughter, Janeal (Gayland) Dugmore of Ferron, UT; 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Cheryl Pabst; sisters, Wanda McIntier, Norma Robison, Dolores Lederer, and Fay "Pat" Walker; brothers, William Pabst and Roland Pabst.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 936 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Spencer Allison officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.

Ammon Rd). Burial in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
