Ray Nickum - 09/10/2001 Ray Nickum - 09/10/2001 RAY NICKUM IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Carrol Raymond Nickum, 69, of Idaho Falls, died September 8, 2001, at his home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Ray was born March 5, 1932, at Wichita, Kansas, to John Amos Nickum and Tressie Ellen Ray Nickum. He was reared in Wichita, moving to Folsom, California, in 1949. He graduated from Folsom Union High School in 1950. Ray married Lois Ethel Teceira June 24, 1951 in Folsom, California. He served in the U. S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955, during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho from 1954 to 1955. After discharge from the Air Force he worked in the aerospace industry in Sacramento, California, until transferring to the NRTS (now INEEL) in 1969. He worked at the national laboratory until his retirement. Ray was actively involved for many years at the Bonneville Museum, especially during its initial development. Surviving are:Wife: Lois Nickum, Idaho Falls, IDSon: Mark Thomas Nickum, Hailey, IDSon: Scott Charles Nickum, Idaho Falls, IDSister: Marie Estelle Barnes, Rancho Cordova, CAGrandson: Christian Michael Nickum, Hailey, IDGranddaughter: Bridget Rae Nickum, Santa Monica, CAGranddaughter: Megan Ann Nickum, Hailey, IDGranddaughter: Chelsea Lyn Nickum, Idaho Falls, IDGrandson: Ryan Scott Nickum, Idaho Falls, ID He was preceded in death by his parents.
