Ray Lorenzo Hadley died June 6, 2017, at his home surrounded by his four children. He was born September 2, 1915, in North Ogden, Utah, to Samuel and Dianna Waldrum Hadley. He lived in North Ogden for 24 years. He graduated from Utah State University in 1937 with a B. S. Degree in Accounting and Business. After employment with General Mills in Ogden for a brief period of time, he was transferred to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he worked in Oakland and then later in San Francisco for twelve years. Other employment highlights in the Bay Area included Pacific Bridge Co., where he was Chief Cost Accountant for 700 employees under contract with the U.S. Navy during WW II; a CPA Firm, Sally Rand (Famous Dancer) and Mullen Manufacturing Co. In November, 1951, he moved to Idaho Falls, where he was employed by the Atomic Energy Research Group at the Idaho National Laboratory. Through many successive contractors, he was Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Manger for Research and Development for approximately 20 years. He retired from EG&G when he was a Financial Assistant for Jim Zane, the Department Manger from a conglomerate division. On July 29,1939, he married the love of his life, Jean Simpson, of Ogden, Utah, in Oakland, California. Later they were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple July 25, 1980. Jean passed January 28, 1989. He later married Blanche Hoggan of Idaho Falls. Blanche passed away September 17, 2012. Ray was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in numerous capacities throughout his life, such as High Priest Group leadership, Counselor in the Elders Quorum, and Secretary to the Spanish Branch Presidency. Later in life, he served a mission at the Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center. He enjoyed and participated in a broad spectrum of sports. He played and managed volleyball for DOE Contractors for about 25 years. His favorite sports included watching football and basketball - especially the Utah Jazz. He played basketball for Weber State College. He loved going to the Jazz games, or going to the NCAA Playoffs when teams he liked were playing. He is survived by two sons, Robert (Bev) Hadley of Butte, Montana, and R. Larry (LouAnn) Hadley of Pleasant View, Utah; two daughters, Adele (Ed) Harper of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and GeNene (Gary) Hansen of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. He also is survived by three step children, Jerry (Valine) Hoggan, Connie (Gordon) Loveland and Steve (Ruth) Hoggan. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Ammon LDS 8th Ward, 2055 South Ammon Road, with Bishop Marshall Riggs officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be later that day at the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah.
