Rance Young

Rance Hugh Young, 86, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 9, 2024, at Eagle Rock Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia.

Rance was born March 21, 1938, in Annis, Idaho, to Therral Young and Hazel Newby Young.

On October 2, 1958, he married Roberta Peterson in Rigby, Idaho. Rance worked as a welder in the manufacturing industry.

Rance was a true outdoors man and enjoyed fishing and camping. He had many hobbies including raising rabbits, gardening and fixing old cars. Above all, Rance cherished time spent with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta Young; his son, Steven Young of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Sheryl Hanni of Ammon, ID, and Julie (John) Lindsay of Idaho Falls, ID; sisters, Jone (Larry) Vincent of Idaho Falls, ID, and Ila (David) Jennings of Idaho Falls, ID; 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Stephen Young, Roy Young, and William Young, and sister, Virginia Pitman.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Burial will take place at a later date in the Ammon Cemetery.
