RAMONA B. McLAIN
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ramona Buchmiller McLain, 86, long time Idaho Falls resident, died February 11, 2006, at her home surrounded by her family. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice, to whom the family extends their gratitude.
She was born January 30, 1920, in Burton, Idaho, to John Henry Buchmiller and Effie Atkin Buchmiller. She received her primary and secondary schooling in Rexburg and went on to become a teacher with degrees from Ricks College and Utah State University. She played violin, gaining a love of music from lessons with Harry Dean and Ronald Hammond before she was 10 years old, and became an accomplished violinist, playing in high school and college orchestras and the Idaho Falls Symphony.
She married Hyrum Smith McLain January 5, 1945, in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple, to which union five children were born. They were later divorced. She was an elementary school teacher in Newdale and Bancroft, Idaho, and at Riverside and Longfellow Elementary Schools in Idaho Falls, retiring in 1983.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in Primary and Relief Society Presidencies, as a chorister, and with a beautiful voice, held many musical positions in her church and community. Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend will be missed, but is now “resting from her labors” and will be with us again one day.

11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2006, at the Idaho Falls LDS North Stake Center, 955 Memorial Drive, with Bishop David Holland of the 7th Ward officiating.
The family will visit with friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and Monday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in the_Rexburg Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
