Click Here To View Memorial Video Ramona Uarda Winward Cole Butler, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away January 12, 2014, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living, under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Ramona was born July 2, 1929, in American Fork, Utah, to Claudius Winward and Marco Leotta Nelson Winward. She was raised in Hailey, Idaho, and Salt Lake City, Utah, areas. As a young child they moved frequently as her father followed work opportunities. She attended schools in Hailey, Idaho, and Taylorsville, Utah. Her family later moved to Montpelier, Idaho, where she met and married Earl D. Butler in March of 1947. Ramona and Earl had two children, Jerry Butler and Kayleen Butler Hanni. They moved between Montpelier and Pocatello, Idaho, and then to Coulee City, Washington, before returning to Pocatello. In 1957, they moved from Pocatello to Idaho Falls, where Earl went to work for the INEL as a bus driver. They moved to Ucon in 1960, where they built their home and lived until Earl retired. Ramona worked for EG&G from 1967 to 1980. They sold their home in Ucon to move to their cabin in Island Park and traveled south for the winter. After Earl passed away in 1989, Ramona moved back to Idaho Falls and lived there until her health required her to move into an assisted living center. Ramona loved to fish, boat, snowmobile, travel and most of all, spend time at the cabin in Island Park. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Judy) Butler of Moses Lake, WA; granddaughters, Kimberly (Don) Hanni Crawley of Palmdale, CA, Jennifer (Roger) Hanni Anderson of Idaho Falls, ID, Tami Jo (Eric) Butler Sainsbury of Moses Lake, WA, Jodi Kay (Troy) Butler Fletcher of Moses Lake, WA, and Amy (Kirk) Butler Phillips of Chandler, AZ; and grandson, Steve (Margo) Butler of Spokane, WA. Ramona had 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Leroy Cole; brother, Verl Cole; and sisters, Ruth Cole and Lona Cole. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kayleen Butler Hanni; son-in-law, Wayne Hanni Jr.; and her husband, Earl Butler. Ramona cared for her mother, husband and daughter during their illnesses, with love and compassion. She is truly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Aspen Home Health and Hospice for their kind and loving care. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Idaho Falls LDS Templeview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or the National Diabetes Foundation, www.diabetes.org.

The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
