Ramon Banks

Ramon Morrison Banks, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 29, 2024, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.

Ramon was born January 15, 1949, in Lamar, Colorado, to George Edwin Banks and Amy Laretta Morrison Banks. He grew up and attended schools in Parowan, Utah, and graduated from Parowan High School. He also attended Colorado State University.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the mountains, and spending time with family. He was a decorated Army veteran dedicated to his American heritage. He served two tours in Vietnam with pride.

Ramon is survived by his son, Michael Banks of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Travis (Kimberly) Banks of Iona, ID; daughter, Alisha Banks of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Edith Zook of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, George (Joyce) Banks of Cedar City, UT; brother, Gary Lynn (Joyce) Banks of Eagle Mountain, UT; sister, Ranae (Larry) Hansen of Panaca, NV; brother, Carl Banks of Cedar City, UT; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Jerrilyn Banks; and brother-in-law, Donald Hartman.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
