Ralph Roger Traughber, 70, of Irwin, Idaho, passed away on December 19, 2012, at his home in Swan Valley. He was born on May 6, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idah,o to Rufus D. Traughber, Jr. and Georgina Weeks Traughber Whiting. Ralph grew up in Swan Valley and went to school in Swan Valley and other schools in eastern Idaho. He worked on ranches and herded sheep for the Weeks Brothers in Swan Valley until he went into the Army. Ralph served in Berlin, Germany for a two and a half years while in the Army. After serving in the Army he went to Blackfoot and worked at the Kraft Food cheese plant. On November 24, 1970, he married Ruth M. Bond in Blackfoot, ID. They lived there for 5 years and then moved to Swan Valley where they have lived ever since. They were married for 42 years. Ralph enjoyed getting wood, camping, hunting, fishing, growing a garden and raising fruit trees. He is survived by his wife, Ruth of Swan Valley, ID; Son, Jeff (Sonja) Traughber of Swan Valley, ID; Five sisters, Julene (Eldon) Dixon of Arizona City, AZ; Alice (Eugene) Richard of Meridian, ID; LaDonna Edwards of Mesquite, NV; Carol (Sam) Chandler of Springfield, ID; Thieda (Ben) Wellman of Farmington,UT; 2 granddaughters, 3 great granddaughters and a lot of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law. At Ralph’s request a family reflection will be held at the American Legion Hall in Swan Valley, Idaho, after the first of the year, and a get together will be held at a later date at the Traughber home for friends and family to come and visit.
