Ralph Prestwich - 12/30/2002 Ralph Prestwich - 12/30/2002 RALPH E. PRESTWICH IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Ralph Elliott Prestwich, 85, of Idaho Falls, died December 28, 2002, at the Idaho Falls Care Center. He was born July 7, 1917 at Lincoln, Idaho, to Newell W. Prestwich and Sarah Ann Elliott Prestwich. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and then continued his education at Ricks College and Idaho State University. At the age of 18, he owned and operated a service station in Idaho Falls. On August 29, 1944, he married Maxine Bingham in Bentonville, Arkansas, where he was an Army Air Corps Flight Instructor for the British during World War II. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on January 24, 1947. He worked as a lab technician for U & I Sugar Factory. He built and owned the Sky-Vu Drive-In Theater in Idaho Falls, and was also owner of the Teton Vu Drive-In Theater in Rexburg. He and his wife have lived in Blackfoot, Lincoln, Rexburg and Bountiful, Utah. For the past 28 years they have wintered in Mesa, Arizona. During the last year and a half they were living in Idaho Falls. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held the office of High Priest and served in numerous positions over the years. He and Maxine served a full-time mission from 1985-86 on the San Carlos Indian Reservation in Arizona. He enjoyed old cars, water sports, fishing, flying, and could build or repair anything. Despite his many interests, his family always came first. Surviving are:Wife: Maxine Prestwich, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Raline Sutherland, Idaho Falls, IDDaughter: Shanna Anderson, Idaho Falls, ID 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a son, Brent Ralph Prestwich. Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2003, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge Ave.), with Bishop Ralph Mortensen officiating. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
