RALPH L. MCBRIDE
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Ralph LaVarr McBride, 73, of Idaho
Falls, died February 19, 2004, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 17, 1930 at Salt Lake City, Utah to
William Wallace McBride and Nancy Breta Garn McBride. When he was four,
the family moved to Columbia, South Carolina where he attended school.
Following graduation, he attended the University of South Carolina and
graduated with his bachelors degree. He then attended Brigham Young University
where he received a master's degree in English and History and a Ph. D.
in American History.
On December 20, 1957, he married Joyce Elvira Knapp in
the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He taught in the public schools until accepting
a position at Ricks College. He taught for 35 years at Ricks College in
the History Department.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, he served in numerous callings including that of Bishop. He served
a mission in Northern California as a youth and later with his wife in
Idaho Falls at the Family History Center and in the Washington D.C. LDS
Temple. He enjoyed photography, singing, family history, and was a fix-it
man who loved helping families with their construction projects.

25 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lawana and Marjorie
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, February
23, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS 8th Ward, 2051 S. Emerson, with Bishop
Brad L. Doman officiating.
The family will meet with friends on Sunday from 6:30-8:30
p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Monday starting at 11:30
a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
