Click here to view video tribute of Ralph Ralph J. Lovell, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 31, 2016, at Turtle & Crane Assisted Living. He was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. Ralph was born August 1, 1928, in Oak City, Utah, to William Owen Lovell and Norma Anderson Lovell. He grew up and attended schools in Oak City, and graduated from high school in Delta, Utah. He participated in track and field, baseball, basketball, and was in the choir. He served a two-year mission in Canada. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He attended Brigham Young University for one year. On June 4, 1954, he married Kaye Jensen in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. To this union were born four children, Randy, Debra, Bonnie, and Michael. Ralph and Kaye were later divorced. Ralph made his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he was self-employed as a professional driver. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved to sing and dance. He was a very athletic man, with baseball being his favorite sport. He was good at sewing, teaching women to quilt on his mission and making handmade balls. He was a humanitarian missionary and his handmade balls can be found in every country in the world. Ralph is survived by his son, Randy (Kim) Lovell of Santaquin, UT; daughter, Debra (Michael) Motteshard of Rigby, ID; daughter, Bonnie Lovell of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Michael (Heidi) Lovell of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Elwood (Alice) Lovell of Spanish Fork, UT; brother, Ferrin (Donna) Lovell of Brigham City, UT; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Norma Lovell; and brothers, Leoyd and Monan Lovell. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Wood East Side. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in the Oak City Cemetery in Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Humanitarian Center, the Veteran’s Administration, or Meals on Wheels.

2 p.m. ,Saturday, September 3, 2016 Wood Funeral Home East Side 963 South Ammon Road Idaho Falls, ID 83406 Notes: The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in Oak City Cemetery in Oak City, Utah.
