Ralph Dalton Henderson, 88, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away September 7, 2011, at his home, following a long illness. Ralph passed peacefully after an extended illness. He was under the care of Hearts for Hospice.
Ralph was born October 21, 1922, in Rockville, Utah, to Harold Webber Henderson and Letitia Dalton Henderson. He grew up in Rockville and attended schools there. He graduated from Hurricane High School, then attended Utah State University, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, then attended the University of Texas, where he received a Master’s Degree in Physical Education Administration. He went on to Idaho State University, where he earned a triple Master’s Degree in Math and Sciences.
During World War II Ralph proudly served his country as a First Lieutenant in the U. S. Army Air Corps in the South Pacific.
On August 31, 1948, he married Kathryn Cole Moore in Fredonia, Arizona. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple in 1951. He taught and coached in the Idaho Falls School District #91 for more than 30 years. He also worked for the Department of Energy as a second career and retired at age 70. Following his retirement, he and Kathryn served four full-time Family History missions, first to Portland, Oregon, then to Salt Lake City, Utah, next to Medford, Oregon, and finally back in Salt Lake City.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ralph was a member of the Ammon Third Ward and served in various capacities over the years. Ralph loved to sing, fish, golf, and spend time with his family. A loving father, Ralph was the example of a life well lived and will be missed.

Michael and Dee (Gates) Henderson of Idaho Falls, ID
Frank Henderson of Portland, OR
Marco and Julie (Henderson) Antezana of Houston, TX; and
Abigail (Henderson) Grant of Ammon, ID;
15 grandchildren and five great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Connie, three brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Ammon LDS Third Ward, 2150 Avocet, with Bishop Sid Beattie officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
