Ralph Fury

Biography

Ralph Warren Fury peacefully passed from this world and into the presence of his Lord on October 19, 2011. He resided at Lincoln Court Retirement Center. He was born February 10, 1921 in Calipatria, California to Boyd and Grace Fury. He grew up and attended schools in California and Arizona. He graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1938. In 1943, Ralph was drafted in the United States Army and served courageously in many combat situations as a halftrack leader and anti-aircraft squad leader in Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge. In 1945, he married Anna Schrader and together they had one son. They were later divorced. In 1961, Ralph married Velma Emmanuel. He moved to Idaho Falls in 2010 to be near his son and his family. Ralph was a lifelong cattleman and operated ranches in Brea, El Toro, Camp Pendleton, Fallbrook, and Cherry Valley, California, and in Fallon, Nevada. He is remembered for his shrewd sense of business when it came to livestock, but more than that, for his love of life and his sense of humor. Ralph believed that any situation, no matter how serious, could be made easier with humor. Even in his last, difficult days, he would declare that life was beautiful. Ralph is survived by his son, Ray (Debbie)Fury of Idaho Falls, ID; grandson, Matt Fury of Brooklyn, NY; granddaughter, Sarah (Jeremy)Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID; and three great grandchildren: Madison, Bailey, and Noah. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, two sisters, and his wife. Ralph was very happy at Lincoln Court Retirement Center, and his family is deeply thankful for the loving care he received from the staff there. Also, appreciation goes to Creekside Hospice for their kindness and encouragement to him. Condolences and thanks to his special friend Irene who meant so much to him. Ralph will be buried at a later date at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a heartfelt thanks be given to military personnel and veterans for their service to our country.
