IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Roger Francis Hanson, 81, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died September 4, 2001, at his home in Idaho Falls.
He was born November 27, 1919 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Niles Gustave Hanson and Isabelle Clotilde DeRome Hanson. He grew up and attended schools in Swan Valley, Rexburg and Rigby and has lived in Idaho Falls the past 55 years.
He served for three years in the Navy during World War II where he received numerous medals.
He married Bertha Pat Utter Hanson August 26, 1987 in Reno, Nevada. He worked as a building contractor for over 50 years, constructing many homes in the Idaho Falls area. He enjoyed building, gardening, and being of service to his neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, sisters, Bernice Jensen, Charlotte Conan and Carmen Hunter and a brother, Herbert Hanson.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Saturday, September 8, 2001, at the Idaho Falls LDS Woodruff 1st Ward, 1660 - 12th Street, with Bishop Larry Christensen officiating.
The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. Veterans Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veteran’s Team at the church.
Burial will be Monday, September 10, at 10:00 a.m. at Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
