Priscilla Dorcas “Perk” Kimball Hunter, 90, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away June 28, 2012, at Pine Brook Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
She was born February 23, 1922, in Lima, Montana, to Lester Roscoe Kimball and Cora Firth Kimball. The family moved to Firth, Idaho, where she attended schools and graduated from Firth High School.
On June 14, 1941, she married Jack Lynn Hunter in Basalt, Idaho. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1988. They lived in Pocatello, St. Anthony, and in 1951, moved to Idaho Falls, where she has since resided. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. From 1955 until 1972 she worked at Mountain Bell Telephone Company as an operator, service assistant, service observer, chief operator, and scheduling and payroll clerk.
Priscilla was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed doing genealogy work. She also volunteered at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, crocheting, reading, oil painting, ceramics, and participating in the Iona Posse. She also loved playing cards and board games with her family.
She is survived by her:
Daughter: Patty L. Briggs, Idaho Falls, ID;
5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three children, Sandra L. Hagers, Jack “Jackie” Lorenzo Hunter, and John Brad Hunter; two brothers, Lloyd Kimball and Lorenzo “Tack” Kimball; a sister, Norma Harding; and a granddaughter, Laurie Lee Diamond.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at the Idaho Falls LDS 26th Ward, 2025 Jennie Lee Drive. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery next to her husband.
