PHILLIP W. POWELL
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Loving husband, father and friend,
Phillip Wayne Powell, 63, of Idaho Falls, died March 14, 2005, at his
home surrounded by his family
He was born July 23, 1941, at Rexburg, to R. Ray Powell
and Gretta Louise Hinckley Powell. He grew up in the area and attended
Madison High School. He then attended University of Utah. He also served
in the U. S. Navy from 1958-1961.
On May 17, 1975, he married Connie L. Palmer in Elko,
Nevada. They would have celebrated their 30th Anniversary May 17th. He
worked as a painter and wallpaperer. He was well-known for his beautiful
work, professionalism and creativity.
He enjoyed camping and fishing. The light of his life
was his family and he especially loved playing with and filming his grandchildren.
You will be greatly missed, Dear Friend. God be with
you until we meet again.

Son: Doug (Windy) Powell, Idaho Falls, ID
Daughter: Harmony (Jason) Williams, Julien, PA
Daughter: Celeste (Thomas) Fleischer, North Salt Lake , UT
Brother: Keith (Mary Ann) Pettingill, West Linn, OR
Sister: Patty Turner, Umatilla, OR
12 Grandchildren.
Phil had many life long friends in Salt Lake. Some were truly like brothers:
Casey Case, Terry Smart and Louie Ortiz.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gretta Pettingill; stepfather,
Boyd Pettingill; a brother, Ken Powell and a grandson, Branden Woodruff
Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March
17, 2005, at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge). The family will visit with
friends for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Hospice of
Eastern Idaho for their loving care and kindness shown to Phil.
