Phillip Neill

Phillip Aaron Neill passed away at home on September 21, 2010 of melanoma stage 4 cancer while under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. He was born in Modesto, California on August 30, 1970 to Carole McCague Neill Perez and Gene M. Neill. He lived there until 1978 when he moved to Idaho Falls with his mother and brother to be closer to his mother’s only sister and family. Phillip attended local schools and graduated from Shelley High School in 1989. Phillip lived briefly in Wyoming and returned to the area in 2005. He worked in construction until his death. Most recently, he worked for his cousin Randy of Newt Construction. He enjoyed outdoor activities, fishing, and snowboarding with his nephew and friends. Survivors include his Mother and step-father, Carole and Alex Perez, Father and step-mother Gene and Shirley Neill, his brother Mark, his nephew Josh, Aunt and Uncle Sally and Gene Cook and cousins Randy and Michelle Cook, Penny Hope and her children Hailie, Kasey, and Erika, Three uncles, and numerous cousins in California and the extended Perez family who offered great support. Many friends and family members were with him until the end. He was preceded in death by all sets of his grandparents. Phillip was gracious enough to donate his body to the Life Legacy Foundation for research on the deadly disease that took his life, and other devastating conditions . He will be cremated and placed in the wall at Fielding Memorial Cemetery in Idaho Falls. There will be a celebration of Phillip’s life in November. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to any branch of the Bank of Commerce in Idaho Falls and will go to the Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
