Phillip Craig Deaton, 59, of Idaho Falls, returned home on August 4, 2013 at the Idaho Falls, ID.
Phillip was born March 2, 1954, in Bridgeport, California to Hugh and Mabel (Wills) Deaton.
He joined the Navy and spent 21 years working on submarines during the Gulf War.
He graduated from Corona Senior High School and attended Idaho State University where he received his Master’s Degree.
Phillip married Sharla Dawn Coon on August 2, 1975 in Idaho Falls, and they have 6 children.
He worked as an administrative assistant for the University of Idaho Agriculture Extension office in Idaho Falls.
Phil loved nature. He loved fishing, spending time with his family and playing with the grandchildren.
Phillip is survived by his loving spouse Sharla of 38 years;

Daughter, Nova Starr of Kingston, WA;
Daughter, Michelle Deaton of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter, Sarah Deaton of Idaho Falls, ID;

Son, Jared Deaton of Pocatello, ID;
Son, Aaron Deaton of Idaho Falls, ID;
Brother, Bennett Deaton of Corona, CA;
Brother, Marc Deaton of Busy, KY;
Sister - Perdita (Bill) Akins of Brentwood, CA;
5 grandchildren
He was preceded in death by father, Hugh Huff Deaton. and a brother Hugh B. Deaton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S. Ammon). The family will visit with friends from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the services. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery with veteran’s rites performed by the Bonneville County Veteran’s Team.
