Petreija Kirkpatrick

On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, Petreija Sue Kirkpatrick, 49, a unique angel, returned to heaven after a valiant fight with a brain tumor. She was born September 13, 1964, in Santa Monica, California to Don and Sue Kirkpatrick. She attended schools in Southern California, where she had many friends. She loved the beach and ocean and the warmth of the sun. In 1990, she met Bruce Squires, and they instantly became friends. They had a lot in common and soon became best friends. Though she loved California, better opportunities arose in Chicago. Petreija loved Chicago and the many friends she met there. On July 4, 1991, she gave birth to her first child, Celeste. It was one of the happiest times of her life. She loved being with her beautiful daughter. On December 9, 1997, Petreija gave birth to her first son, Joshua, and she was again happy to be blessed with another child. She loved spending time with her children, watching them grow. In 1998, Petreija decided that Idaho Falls is where her career would take her, so Petreija and Bruce moved from Chicago to Idaho Falls. Within nine months of adjusting to the Idaho Falls lifestyle, the stork delivered another child. Kaleb was born June 11, 1999, and was a very welcome addition to her family. Soon after, she decided that it was time to stay home and be with her children. Petreija loved all kinds of music and was often found singing to her favorite song. In 2004, Petreija and Bruce separated but still remained good friends. In 2009, Petreija met Lee Brown, who lived in Rigby. He showed her the "country" side of Idaho. He introduced her to some good fishing, and she could often be seen riding her horse, Violet. She loved Violet. She also loved riding four-wheelers with her kids under a big, blue sky. We miss you, Petreija, God Bless you. She is survived by her daughter Celeste; her two sons, Joshua and Kaleb; and friend, Bruce Squires, all of Idaho Falls; Lee Brown of Rigby; her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Jennifer Kirkpatrick of Iowa; stepdad, Dennis King of California; and many relatives in California and Chicago.
