PETER D. CHENOWETH
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Peter D. “Pete” Chenoweth, 57, of Idaho Falls, ID, died August 18, 2001, at his home of natural causes.
Pete was born in Aberdeen, Washington on September 15, 1943 to Harold and Mary Chenoweth. He moved to Crawford, Nebraska in 1947 where he grew up and attended school.
In 1959, he entered the U. S. Army and served honorably as a medic in Europe and throughout the U. S. He married Kathryn Ann Folk in July 1965 and they were later divorced.
After his military service, He worked as an x-ray technician at Kern County General Hospital in Bakersville, CA, Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg and the Parkview Hospital in Idaho Falls. He lived in several locations and eventually settled in Idaho Falls where he met his current wife, TeriLyn Hayes Strong. He worked for 17 years at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory as a Quality Control Technician before he retired in 1995.
Pete was active in the community, a member of the Elks Lodge and served as a volunteer at the Idaho Falls Food Bank. He loved history, the mountains and was an avid camper, golfer and fisherman.
Surviving are:Wife: TeriLyn Chenoweth, Idaho Falls, IDSon: Brian D. (Laurie) Chenoweth, Iowa City, IASon: Scott E. (Amy) Chenoweth, Roy, UTDaughter: Angela Chenoweth, Idaho Falls, IDStepson: Tom Strong, Idaho Falls, ID4 Grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2001, at the Wood Chapel of the Pines with Chris Peterson of Wood Chapel of the Pines officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 7-8:30 and for one hour prior to services on Saturday, both at Wood Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
