Pete Versey

Peter Robert Versey, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 26, 2016, at Bingham Memorial Hospital.

Pete was born August 31, 1928, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, to Walter William Versey and Ada Ellen Reeder Versey. He grew up and attended schools in the area.

On July 16, 1954, he married Reva Ethel Oswald in Idaho Falls, Idaho. To this union were born five children, Wayne, Paul, Brian, Brenda, and Sheila. Pete and Reva made their home in Idaho Falls, where Pete worked as a Laboratory Technician for Upper Valley Dairyman’s Association.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, bowling, boating, fishing and watching television.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Reva Versey of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Wayne Robert Versey of Shelley, ID, son, Paul William Versey of Plain City, UT, daughter, Brenda Joan Park of Sandy, UT, daughter, Sheila Jean Versey of Austin, CO, sister, Olive Mary Collinson of Ipswich, England sister, Brenda (Clive) Prentice of Ipswich, England 20 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Brian Keith Versey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS 21st Ward, 1155 East First Street, with Bishop Robert Pettit officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery.
