FRANCES J. SCHMALZ IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Frances Jensen Schmalz, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 29, 2008, at her home. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. She was born June 15, 1917, in Brigham City, Utah, to Orion Peter Jensen and Jessie Ella Brown Jensen. She attended schools in the area and graduated from Box Elder High School. She then attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked as a legal secretary in the livestock and wool business and for law firms in Ogden, Utah. On July 28, 1946, she married Bruce Leroy Schmalz in Ogden, Utah. They moved to Yakima, Washington, for two years and then moved to Idaho Falls, where she has since resided. She was a mother and homemaker. After her sons were in school, she returned to work as a legal secretary for various lawyers, law firms and judicially related offices. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various auxiliary organizations. She served in the PTA. She enjoyed music and served as an officer in various music clubs in southeastern Idaho . Survivors include: Husband: Bruce Schmalz, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Kirk L. Schmalz, Farmington, UT Son: Mark D. Schmalz, Lone Tree, CO Sister: Margaret Sheffield, Ogden, UT 4 Grandchildren & 4 Great Grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
