Penny Lynn Andrus, 69, of Idaho Falls, passed away December 24, 2021, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital.
Penny was born October 12, 1952, in Great Falls, Montana, to Jesse D. Howard and Nadeen Howard. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and Ammon, graduating from Bonneville High School in 1971. She also attended Eastern Idaho Technical College where she studied horticulture.
Penny made her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a "Friend of Bill" and celebrated 32 years of sobriety. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, astronomy, playing video games, singing, dancing, camping, and fishing. She became an ordained Christian minister and even performed the marriage of one of her daughters.
Penny is survived by her loving children, Ekco Shipley of Boise, ID, Thomas (Amy) Diaz of Idaho Falls, Heather (Zach) Anderson of Rigby, ID; brother, Rudy (Jewel) Howard of Nampa, ID; brother, Michael "Mick" Howard of Idaho Falls; sister, Judy Howard of Idaho Falls; brother, Colin (Kandie) Howard of Idaho Falls; brother, Dorin Howard of Idaho Falls; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Nadeen Howard.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Services will be broadcast live on this web page.
