PEGGY ROGERS
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Wilma Lucinda “Peggy” Rogers, 90, of Idaho Falls, died December 28, 2002, at Mallory House Assisted Living Center, of causes incident to age.
She was born January 10, 1912, at Clawson, Teton County, Idaho, the third of five children born to Samuel Jared Merrill, Jr. and Edna Fullmer Merrill. She was raised in the farming communities of southeastern Idaho, primarily in Moore and Arco.
As a young adult she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met and married Henry Lynn Rogers on June 29, 1936, in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized August 29, 1952, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She was a homemaker and mother. Lynn passed away January 23, 2000.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various capacities over the years, including full-time missions with her husband to the Texas, Houston Mission, the Provo Temple, and the Idaho Falls Deseret Industries. She was an active participant in civic and church affairs and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. The hallmarks of Peggy’s life were her winning personality and wit, goodness to people, her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, and her unending devotion to her family.
Surviving are:Son: V. Daniel (Luana) Rogers, Farmington, UTSon: Robert Dell [Tamara] Rogers, Idaho Falls, IDSister: Lavon Little, Meridian, ID 11 Grandchildren & 24 Great GrandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her husband and a brother and sister.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2003, at the Idaho Falls LDS Templeview Ward, 1450 Mountain View Lane, with Bishop Dennis Reilly officiating.
The family will visit with friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
