Annie Lucille “Peggy” Oliverson Empey, 88, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society Idaho Falls Village. She was born August 3, 1923 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to William Oliverson and Hannah Genet Watson Oliverson. She attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. On December 24, 1941, Peggy married Harold Curtis Empey in Lincoln, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on March 27, 1966. Together they raised four children. Harold passed away December 26, 2000. Peggy was a mother and a homemaker. She worked for C. C. Anderson and for Idaho Falls School District #91 as a baker for their lunch program, retiring in 1988. Peggy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Primary chorister and was on the Stake Sunday School board. Peggy was also a member of the Cultural Arts Club. Peggy enjoyed fishing, playing her piano, embroidery, and playing bingo at Parkwood Meadows and Good Samaritan. Survivors include: Daughter: Brenda C. Empey of South Jordan, UT; Son: Richard (Brenda Lee) Empey of Blackfoot, ID; Daughter-in-Law: Donna Empey of Shelley, ID; Son: Terry Empey of Idaho Falls, ID; 12 Grandchildren 24 Great Grandchildren 1 Great-great grandchild She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; her son, Alan Empey; her brothers, Dean Oliverson and Wayne Oliverson; and a sister, Wanda Jones. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, with Bishop Jack Klein of the Idaho Falls LDS 10th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ammon Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
