PEARL SPAULDING
IDAHO FALLS, ID - Pearl Matilda Spaulding, 98, long-time Idaho Falls resident, died November 9, 2005, at the home of her daughter from causes incident to age.
She was born October 26, 1907, in Burton, Idaho, to Orson Peter Heileson and Matilda Jensen Heileson. She attended Burton and Union schools, received her Teaching Degree at Ricks College, and earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Elementary Education from Idaho State University.
She taught school for 33 years.
She married David Abiah Spaulding, Jr. May 28, 1931, in the Salt Lake City, Utah, LDS Temple. To this union five children were born. David preceded her in death June 3, 1977.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as ward chorister and organist and in various other callings. She worked as a school teacher until her retirement in 1972. In her time at home she made quilts, crocheted many afghans and doilies, loved to travel, especially on cruises, and dearly loved to go huckleberrying.

Son: Murland Orson (Marilyn) Spaulding, Idaho Falls
11 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 22 Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a stillborn daughter, a son, Reid Ira Spaulding, two sisters, Donna and Edna, and four brothers, Howard, Ordon, Dwayne and Weldon, a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Spaulding and a great-great granddaughter, Ashlee Monson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005, at the Wood East Side Chapel, 963 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Nolan Jensen officiating.
The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday for one hour prior to services, both at Wood East Side Chapel in Ammon.
Burial will be in the Rexburg-Burton Cemetery under the direction of Wood East Side Funeral Home.

Please accept my sympathy at the loss of your mother. While I only saw her once of twice a year, I found her to be loving, caring, and giving. When I lost my son to cancer, she comforted me as she had also lost a son at an early age. She will be greatly missed.
