Pearl Crow

Pearl Gardner Crow, 99, of Ammon, passed away June 22, 2017, at The Gables of Ammon Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. Pearl was born March 31, 1918, in Labelle, Jefferson County, Idaho, to Franklin Gardner and Effie Pearl Clements Gardner. She moved to Ammon, Idaho, in October, 1924, and resided there the rest of her life. On November 22, 1938, she married Joseph Orval Crow in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a Primary teacher for many years and also as Relief Society President and teacher. She was active in Family History and the extraction program and served as a temple officiator. She and Orval served a mission to the Washington Spokane Mission. She was a beautician and had a beauty shop in her home. She loved to crochet and sew. She and Dad loved to go camping. She enjoyed gardening and was noted for her love of color, both in her flowers and in her dress. She loved her family and enjoyed being with them. Pearl is survived by her children, Val (Karleen Fielding) Crow, Joyce (Paul) Bunnell, both of Ammon, Gary (Trudy Wheeler) Crow of Midvale, UT, and Vicky (Robert) Hambrick of Middlebury, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval, in 2010, three half-sisters, Hattie Gardner, Leora Gardner, and Ethel Gardner Winn Bauer, three half-brothers, Leornal (Partha Jacobsen) Gardner, Raymond (Nina Crow) Gardner, and Glen (Elizabeth Saxton) Clark, and full brothers and sisters, Eva Gardner, Reva Gardner, Owen (Zelma Empey and Etta Waters) Gardner, Irving (Pearl Rowberry) Gardner, Iris (Jesse) Crow, Dean (James) Overdorf, and twin brother, Earl (Josephine Jensen) Gardner. She has 21 Grandchildren, 63 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. A special thanks to all the workers at The Gables of Ammon that took such good care of Mom. A very special thanks to her hospice nurse, Chris Hulse, and her hospice aide, Kalee Hampton, for their loving care of Mom the last two years. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Ammon LDS 5th Ward, 2055 S. Ammon Road, with Bishop Alan Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
